There’s Definitely Something Here For You

The internet…. heaven and hell! The ultimate resource and the worst form of distraction. But you know what’s great about the internet? The little nuggets you stumble upon and you’re like ‘Yep, that makes sense.’ However, if you do not have the gift of a rational thinking mind to question what you hear and read, then don’t venture too far into the internet. Just stay safely at the shores of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or whatever social platform tickles your fancy.

Now today’s post. As usual, I stumbled on a post I think everyone should read. At first glance, it might seem like one of those ‘Tips to a better life’ post and I almost passed up on it but after the first few points, I settled in for a good read.  The link is:

I’d like to share a few points that got me thinking:

Point 1: Putting your own opinion to a fact. Unless you’re 100% certain – it’s not a fact, and you’re probably making it worse. – A lot of internet folks do this. Fam, calm down; it’s your opinion not the word of God.

Point 5:Thinking you’re more important than anyone else. You’re not. You’re just as important as everyone else. – There’s confidence and there’s self-importance; know the difference.

Point 8: Being afraid to spend money. You worked hard to earn it – so do something with it. But living in a city like Lagos where everyone needs to make an impression, you find that people spend the money that they don’t have. So draw a fine line, indulge yourself once in a while especially if you work so hard. We only have one life you know.

Point 11: Believing something to be true because you heard it from an authority. Do your own research. Form your own judgment. Trust your own instincts. – Don’t take everything you hear hook, line, and sinker, you have a brain; for the love of God, USE IT!

Point 14: Refusing to watch a movie, read a book or buy a product just because it’s popular. One day, you’ll miss out on something amazing. – Not everytime aloof. You don’t have to die over it but you need to know what’s going on around you.

Points 23, 24, 25 and 31

I don’t agree with Point 35, I think you should be aware of what’s going on around you. Don’t take it in hook line and sinker; that’s what you have a brain for.

Point 38 is epic don’t you think? The perfect wake up call!

That’s all folks. You can thank me later.

Have a wonderful week. :*
