I was recently blessed with this article —–> http://markmanson.net/not-giving-a-fuck
I must say it was one heck of an enlightening read. If you are very sensitive about the ‘F’ word, I would advise you not to read the article because the writer was very generous with his use of the word.
Anyways this very nicely written and enlightening article calls you to re-evaluate the things you care/worry/pay attention to.
Mark (he is the writer by the way) carefully puts certain things into perspective: why you should care vs why you shouldn’t. He doesn’t try to force his opinions on you like so many other bloggers/writers/inspirational internet gurus , ‘I have absolutely no idea how to refer to them’.
Are you doing things because people or society expects you to? Or because you have a point to prove to yourself? Or because you enjoy seeing the look of horror on people’s faces when confronted when your ‘middle-finger’ behaviour?
Whatever it is, enjoy this little excerpt from Mr. Mason who is my current internet hero!
‘Indeed, the ability to reserve our fucks for only the most fuckworthy of situations would surely make life a hell of a lot easier. Failure would be less terrifying. Rejection less painful. I mean, if we could only give a few less fucks, or a few more consciously-directed fucks, then life would feel pretty fucking easy.’
This next quote, in my opinion, is a CLASSIC!!!!
‘Developing the ability to control and manage the fucks you give is the essence of strength and integrity. We must craft and hone our lack of fuckery over the course of years and decades. Like a fine wine, our fucks must age into a fine vintage, only uncorked and given on the most special fucking occasions.’
That’s all for now, folks. Till something tickles my fingers, I remain yours truly,
